Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ indoor drive-in theater gives you a taste of the 50s right in the heart of Commissary Lane. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience with a jaw-dropping atmosphere and traditional American menu. Over the years, Sci-Fi has become more and more difficult to snag a reservation for. With the masses flooding to Hollywood Studios to visit Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, the park has grown in popularity along with the famous drive-in. While this restaurant is a must for many, its inconsistency and lack of a diverse menu leave more to be desired for a lot of its guests. So, here lies the question, should you plan a meal at Sci-Fi? Is it worth rushing to your computer 60 days before your trip just for the chance? Let’s start by discussing the menu. A majority of the entrees offered at Sci-Fi are various types of burgers. These dishes include the Classic American Burger, the Pork on Pork burger, the Drive-In BBQ Burger, the Flying Saucer Impossible Burger, and the rotating Feature Film Burger. In my experience, the Drive-In BBQ Burger is absolutely delicious and goes perfectly with my beloved french fries and vanilla milkshake. For those of you who have a hankering from something else, there are sadly not many other options available. There are two pasta dishes, one with chicken and one with salmon, a chicken salad sandwich, and a grilled chicken citrus salad also available for your entree. The menu definitely lacks variety, but I would recommend dining at Sci-Fi if you value a great atmosphere and dining experience over everything else. At the end of the day, the reason the restaurant is so popular is because of the scenery inside. Sci-Fi allows you to dine in a car-shaped booth under an indoor starry night sky, where you can watch old B movie clips on the big screen. For all my hamburger lovers out there, it is unlikely that you will be disappointed with your meal. This will be the perfect spot for you to cool down and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. If burgers aren’t your favorite, then this probably won't be the best meal you have during your Walt Disney World vacation. The experience is fantastic, but not worth it if you value food over everything else when making your Disney dining plans. However, if you love hamburgers or are looking for an experience you can not get anywhere else, then Sci-Fi Dine-In is definitely for you. Do not let the menu scare you into missing out on dining under the stars if it is something that truly interests you. Another option is to always order appetizers with or for your meal. Sci-Fi offers onion rings, spinach and artichoke dip, Caesar salad, fried dill pickles, and smoked wings. Don't forget about dessert! Your choices include Sci-Fi’s delicious milkshakes, along with a hot fudge sundae, white chocolate cheesecake, and pineapple mousse. If you really want to experience the inside of this classic Hollywood Studios restaurant that has honestly become an attraction in itself, then go for it and work with what they have to create an experience that you will not forget anytime soon. Get some appetizers, grab a drink, and enjoy something sweet while watching Attack of the 50 Foot Woman!
