Pandora: World of Delicious Food

Pandora: World of Avatar brought Disney’s Animal Kingdom two new attractions that quickly became fan favorites. As much as I enjoy Na'vi River Journey and Flight of Passage, neither are the highlight of Animal Kingdom’s newest land for all the foodies out there. Pandora also brought a new quick service location to the park that allows guests to dine like the Na’vi. It even happens to offer up a Rohde family recipe that after you try once, you will want to get it over and over again! Satu’li Canteen is this new fast casual dining experience and it is the perfect stop to make after riding one of Animal Kingdom’s newest rides. With seating both inside and out, the restaurant is well prepared to satisfy anyone wishing to dine at the former RDA mess hall. The menu features different bowls for you to choose from and customize, including the Chili-Garlic Shrimp Bowl, Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef Bowl, Chopped Wood-Grilled Chicken Bowl, and Combination Bowl with both ground beef and chicken. While these sound delicious and can be made to your liking, they are not the reason to dine at Satu’li Canteen. The highlight of this restaurant comes from the Rohde family themselves, the cheeseburger steamed pods. While normal cheeseburgers can be found all around Walt Disney World, none of them are quite like these pods that you can find at Satu’li Canteen. They are filled with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar cheese. The special attraction, however, is the bao bun that surrounds all these ingredients. It is soft, tasty, and even portable! Each meal comes with two, and they are very hard to put down once you start munching on them. Served with this meal are also the incredibly addicting vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw. Seriously, it is totally possible to fill up on these delicious vegetable chips. Don’t eat too much though, because this restaurant has even more to offer! There are two options for “Ber’ri” (dessert) and you may have difficulty choosing just one. The first is a simple chocolate cake that contains a crunchy hazelnut cookie layer, banana cream, and goji berries. The next is a blueberry cream cheese mousse, which is made with passion fruit curd. Lastly, you can top off your delicious meal with a special beverage, the Pandora Sunrise. This delicious drink is made with a blend of tropical juices and melon-flavored Powerade. With all the excellent dining options inside and near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, do not count out the experience that is Satu’li Canteen. Dive into the world of the Na’vi and enjoy the sights and sounds of Pandora with a cheeseburger steamed pod in your hand as soon as possible. Grab a Na’vi-sized Pretzel over at Pongu Pongu while you’re at it. When in Pandora, right?!
